Our Culture

As a member of the North Shore Healthcare family, our center’s dedicated healthcare professionals strive to deliver quality care to those who have chosen us. Green Bay Health Services’ goal is to create an environment that affords our residents the opportunity to be a partner in the care they receive, to develop trusting relationships with our caregivers, and to reach their highest level of independence. We are passionate about making our center The Right Choice for you or your loved one.

Located in beautiful Green Bay, Wisconsin, we serve primarily counties in the Northeastern region of the state. We are proud to be active participants in the Green Bay community.

In a recent customer satisfaction survey, we are proud to share that 100% of our residents rated their overall experience as good to excellent. In 2019 we received a deficiency free annual survey.

We recently were awarded a 2019 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The Award Program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. As a recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, we may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award criteria.

Leadership Team

Executive Director – Josh Theis

“I enjoy the opportunity to lead a group of staff in providing quality care in the community we serve. Working in a skilled nursing facility allows the unique opportunity to enrich someone’s life every day – whether it’s a staff member or one of our residents.”

Admissions – Cheryl Tobin

“Nursing gives me the opportunity to not only meet many new and interesting people, but also the opportunity to learn from each of them. Whether it is from my coworkers, patients or patients’ families, I can honestly say that I learn from all of them.”

Business Office Manager – Connie Pashouwer

“The reason I work in the healthcare field is because of the residents. I have always been drawn to the older population and working with them is such a joy. I think some people do not “see” older people. It only takes a few seconds to make eye contact, share a smile and brighten someone’s day.”

Director of Nursing–Cynthia Handrich

“My passion for long-term care comes from working with the Residents. They all come to us with their life story and have lived through these events and survived. They have so much to share and we can all learn so much from them.”

“I am very glad I chose to come to Green Bay Health Services. I love having a private room. The private room allows me to rest and recuperate as I need to, but there are still plenty of things to keep me busy when I feel like participating in the activities. The nursing staff is nice and so good at their jobs, they even give good shots…that’s saying a lot! The meals are always very good and leave me satisfied, but if I want a snack, they always have something available for me. I am happy to go home but know that I always have a good place to come to if I need therapy and extra help again!”

-Michael Overvog

“We hear that it is very unusual to have a mother and daughter in a nursing home at the same time. For us, it was the best possible remedy for a time in our lives when we were both struggling with medical issues. We were unable to care for each other, but being able to still be together while receiving the care we need, meant the world to us. The therapy staff were super caring and supportive. They actually made therapy fun for us! The nursing staff was also very supportive and helped us through some really tough times physically. The whole staff helped promote confidence in us which boosted our self confidence and helped us to heal faster. If you ever have the opportunity to spend some time here, try their fruit plate, it is wonderful! It was our first experience in a nursing home but, if we ever need it again, we will be back at Green Bay Health Services!”

“Due to some problems with infections, I had to have my pacemaker removed which meant I had to wear a LifeVest in the meantime. Green Bay Health Services had the manufacturer of the LifeVest come in and train all of their nurses on this product so they were prepared to give me the best care. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate that. The nursing staff, every single one of them, is top notch and dedicated to their patients, helpful and as friendly as could be. Everyone we encountered in the facility, from the cleaning staff, the therapy staff, of course the nursing staff and the administration was kind, caring and friendly. There’s no place like home, but Green Bay Health Services makes you feel at home.”
